Pastor Douglass Thompson brings a special gift to Genesis: his beloved wife, Sis. Jessie Thompson. As a talented choir and praise team leader, Jessie is known for her God-given abilities, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to serving the church. She recognizes her important role as a prayer warrior, spiritual mentor, friend, and role model for the congregation at Genesis.

Jessie’s strong moral compass is rooted in the God-fearing environment she experienced growing up. Her parents, the late Rev. Jessie and Mrs. Mariah Redmond, instilled in her a deep love for God. Jessie’s spiritual journey began as a child at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi. As a believer, she realized that her relationship with God needed to deepen and decided to totally submit herself under HIS Lordship. On January 5, 1976, at Greater Bethlehem Temple in Jackson, MS, this total submission to God was made and she received the Holy Spirit and experienced a life-changing transformation.
